Morning
Tour leader Killian Driscoll will pick you up from your chosen location, and you’ll start your tour with Killian introducing the walk ahead, and answering any questions you may have. Throughout the walk, Killian will share with you his knowledge of the history and archaeology of the region.
In this tour of Barcelona's ancient secrets, you'll venture across the heart of old town Barcelona, discovering the city's roots as the Roman city of Barcino, and learn about daily life in the Mediterranean seaside city in Roman times. You'll see how Barcelona grew from a Roman city to a thriving medieval capital city, and how its famous Gothic Quarter grew up. You'll visit el Call, the medieval Jewish Quarter, and learn about the relationship between Christians and Jews in Barcelona, Spain, and Europe.
The tour continues from medieval times into the modern period and you'll see how the city and its inhabitants evolved in the 18th and 19th centuries, and set the stage for Barcelona to be the vibrant Mediteranean city it is today.
Midway through the tour, you'll have a refreshment break at a local cafe and watch Barcelona's local life go by.
